Die internationalen Gäste hatten die Möglichkeit, am Hauptplatz traditionelle Tänze etc. zu präsentieren – hier eine kleine Auswahl:

Girl Guides and Boy Scouts from 28 nations attended urSPRUNG 2010 – Austrian Jubilee Jamboree in the palace grounds of Laxenburg castle. As participants or staff they all spent a great time with Girl Guides and Boy Scouts from all states of Austria. The attendees from Sri Lanka had the longest journey of all participants!

Our international guests were offered a chance to present their traditional dances etc. on the camp’s main square – here is a small selection:

Dismantling the camp is proceeding at a rapid pace. All around me the press centre is being taken apart, and the infrastructure people told us they will shut down the power lines any minute. Therefore you may have to wait until Sunday (August 15) for the next update. Thanks! We’ve had a great time.

es ist der Tag der Abreise gekommen. Wie fleißige Bienen schwirren die Pfadis übers Lagergelände, bauen Zelte und Tische ab, tragen Holz zu großen Stapeln zusammen und packen ihre Rucksäcke. Bis 16.00 Uhr wird der Lagerplatz beinahe vollkommen leer sein, nur der Infrastrukturabbau geht noch bis Sonntag weiter.

Wir verabschieden uns von Pfadis aus 28 Nationen, von 7.600 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern. Die zahlreichen hier geknüpften Freundschaften werden natürlich das Ende des Lagers überstehen, auch habe ich gehört, dass viele Einladungen ausgesprochen wurden und man sich gegenseitig besuchen will.

Zur Erinnerung an die vielen neuen Freundschaften werde ich noch schnell Halstuch tauschen und mich dann glücklich aber doch etwas traurig in den Bus setzen … urSPRUNG 2010 … good bye!

Dear diary,

The day of departure has come. All the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts are busy taking down their constructions and tents, building large piles of wood and packing their backpacks. The campsite will be almost empty at about 4 pm; only the staff members will stay until Sunday and disassemble the entire infrastructure.

We say goodbye to Girl Guides and Boy Scouts from 28 nations, to 7,600 participants. The many friendships formed here will definitely survive the end of urSPRUNG 2010; many invitations were extended and groups will visit each other in the future.

To remember all my new friendships I will now wander the camp and swap my scarf with somebody. Then I’ll be ready to get on the bus and start my journey home … urSPRUNG 2010 … good bye!

alles im Leben hat ein Ende – so auch das urSPRUNG 2010! Nach 10 wunderschönen Tagen in Laxenburg wurde das Lager gestern feierlich beendet. Noch einmal versammelten sich alle Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder bei der großen Hauptbühne, um gemeinsam Abschied zu nehmen.

Im Zuge der Abschiedsfeier bedankten wir uns bei allen Staff-Mitgliedern, sahen den Time Warp mit Pfadis aus der Zukunft und trauerten den Flaggen nach, als sie eingeholt wurden. Gemeinsam tauschten wir die Lagerhalstücher gegen unsere eigenen, um zu zeigen, dass das Lager hiermit offiziell beendet ist.

Mit der Band “First Aid” sangen wir den Lagersong “Zurück zum urSPRUNG” und anschließend noch Auld Lang Syne, alles ganz gemäß der Pfadfindertradition.

Ein Best-of der Bilder vom urSPRUNG 2010 zeigte noch einige der schönsten Lagermomente – und so mancher konnte sich auf den Bildern wiederfinden, was immer wieder zu vereinzeltem Jubel in der Menge führte!

Als große Überraschung gab es am Ende der Abschlussfeier noch ein Konzert von “First Aid”. Nach dieser sehr stimmungsvollen Veranstaltung gingen die Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder langsam zurück zu ihren Schlafstätten – viele nutzten diese letzte Nacht um unter freiem Himmel zu schlafen!

Dear diary,

Everything in life ends sooner or later – and so did urSPRUNG 2010. After 10 wonderful days in Laxenburg the camp has been ceremonially closed yesterday. The Girl Guides and Boy Scouts all met one last time at the main stage to bid their farewells.

In course of the closing ceremony we said thank you to all staff members, we saw the time warp with scouts from the future and watched the flags being hauled in. To show that the camp has officially been closed we changed our camp scarves for our national scarves.

Together with the band “First Aid” we sang the official camp song “Zurück zum urSPRUNG” and then Auld Lang Syne, according to good old scouting tradition.

The most impressive pictures were shown in a big slideshow – which led to loud cheering when people recognized their group or themselves in the pictures!

As a final surprise the show ended with a big concert by “First Aid”. After this impressive closing ceremony the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts made their way back to their individual group campsites – most of them took the chance and slept under the open sky!
